By adopting a tree, we are demonstrating an awareness of our natural environment through hands-on investigations, observations, and questions.
After we investigated the differences between coniferous and deciduous trees, we decided to adopt a maple and spruce tree, and watch them change and grow over the course of our year together.

The adoption process began with a walk around our school property. We easily decided on two trees. Once back in class, the children thought of possible names for our trees. After a vote, and careful tally, may we present:
